Social Skills Playgroup - in office & Playgroup In the park (p.I.P.)™

We provide playgroups, using evidence-based strategies, focusing on the emotional, behavioral, and social skills of young children. Playgroups are structured to resemble a play-based classroom and last one hour and 15 minutes. Playgroup sessions usually include a circle time focused on feelings, guided playtime, art, and a goodbye circle focused on goals for the week and gratefulness. Group size is between 4-7 children, and each class is facilitated by 2-3 staff members. Confidential feedback is provided to parents at the close of group and/or by calls.

We invite siblings and extended family to sessions. The goal is to teach parents how to feel confident to help their children in their everyday family life and environment.

school shadowing and school observation

We provide school shadowing in area pre-schools as well as observations to help understand children and their struggles in their natural environment. We partner with teachers and heads of school in the Houston area and consult out-of-state.

telehealth - zoom

We provide family, individual and social skills playgroup sessions through Telehealth via Zoom. Sessions are provided by Dr. Hammond and Lindsay McCann, Licensed Professional Counselor. To bring our sessions alive we stream books, videos, and create original art with children using whiteboard and other art mediums; to learn about feelings and create social experiences therapeutically.

home-based family therapy

We provide family sessions outside or inside. During a home-based family therapy session we may draw feeling faces and social stories with chalk, go on a bike ride, play hide-and-seek or play with water to create therapeutic experiences. We invite siblings and extended family to sessions. The goal of a family therapy home visit is to teach parents how to confidently help their children in their everyday family life and environment.
